Joe and Anthony Russo are hard at work on both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4, and those two movies might end up being the last the brothers direct for Marvel Studios.

In an interview with Collider, Josh Brolin spoke about how great it's been working with the Russos on these movies, but also hinted that their future lies away from the MCU:

"...I think that they’re in a position very openly and raw-ly where they’re like, ‘We would never do this again. This is a one-time deal. To put this many successful actors together is such a pain in the ass, but it’s been worth it. We’re doing two movies. One back to back, and this is it for us. Then we’ll go off in another direction,’ but this is a very, very, very ambitious project that I think is going to pay off in a big way.”

While it doesn't explicitly confirm anything, it'd be more than understandable if the Russos wanted to take a break and do something different after these two films. With almost every strand of the MCU coming together, just doing one of the two would be a big task, and doing two back-to-back is bordering on insanity.

Also, by the time these two movies are done they'll have directed four MCU movies, more than anyone else by far. While their style of action and humour has been brilliant, and would be missed, Phase 4 is set to take things in new directions while their responsibility is bringing Phase 3 to a fitting conclusion.

The pair also have a number of other projects lined up, including a big move back to TV. After making their names on sitcoms like Arrested Development and Community, their next ventures in the medium include adaptations of comic book Deadly Class, video game Little Nightmares, and movie The Warriors.
