Avengers 4 Theory: Did Thanos Time Travel At The End Of Infinity War?

The final shot doesn't make sense otherwise.

It’s already been said time and time again, but Avengers: Infinity War was a cinematic event unlike any other in the history of the medium. It marks the culmination of three phases, nineteen movies, and seventeen billion dollars.

It proved that Marvel Studios could do anything even (Final Spoiler Warning!) wipe out half of their major characters, and have the bad guy win.

Yes, Thanos reaches the closing credits of Infinity War victorious, having wiped out trillions of lives with a snap of his fingers. The final shot we see of Thanos is him overlooking a ‘peaceful sunrise’, exactly as he said he would to Dr. Strange before their confrontation on Titan.

But, seeing as Avengers: Infinity War will continue the fight against The Mad Titan, knowing exactly where he is at the close of the movie is rather important. Or, if you’ll permit the most egregious of time travel cliches, perhaps the question is not where, but when. The good folks at ScreenRant have put together an interesting theory on Thanos’ location at the end of the devastating Infinity War.

Let’s explore.

3. Where Is Thanos At The End Of Infinity War?

The basis of fact this theory builds upon is a tiny tidbit of information gleaned from a recent release of concept art that reveals the location of Thanos’ ‘peaceful sunrise’.

Everyone’s best guess was Titan, looking at the general colour scheme and it being Thanos’ home world and everything, and artist Pete Thompson’s released concept art reveals that this is indeed the case. The art is titled ‘Titan Thanos farm (post-production) Pre Production by Chris Kessler’.

It hardly needs mentioning how breathtaking the artistic direction of the MCU is, but the really important information here is that Infinity War closes with Thanos back on Titan.

With that established, let’s examine what it has to do with time travel.
