11. The End Is The Beginning
As if the footage of Stark being stranded, isolated in space, wearing a brown undershirt wasn't already reminiscent enough of his time spent in the cave in the original Iron Man, this new trailer goes above and beyond to pull at the heartstrings of longtime MCU fans.
Beginning with footage from the first Iron Man, it gradually makes its way to footage from both Captain America: The First Avenger and the first Thor. Not only is this exceedingly smart marketing on Marvel's part, effectively managing to sell this as the definitive swan song for this cast of characters, it also looks as if it will be crucial to the film itself.
It's no coincidence that time travel keeps coming up in discussions about Endgame and it's a safe bet to say that pretty much all of the locations seen in these stylized black-and-white flashbacks would be key events the Avengers would revisit in their journey through the past.
Whether it's Tony Stark escaping the cave and falling in love with Pepper, Cap going from would-be soldier to super soldier, Thor learning valuable morals from Odin in Asgard, there's a reason the Russos and Marvel are taking us on this deliberate trip down memory lane with this trailer: because they're going to play integral roles in the narrative of Endgame.
