Take that ace scoopers!

It's fair to say that 2018 is going to be a big year for Marvel Studios. They're currently looking at a $800-900m tracking for Black Panther (it'll take more than a billion when it's all finished) and then next on the agenda is the long awaited release of Avengers: Infinity War, which could make twice that.

To say that that movie is the most hyped MCU release so far is an understatement and while that's a good thing for the Marvel marketing machine, it's also a double-edged sword. That sort of hype inevitably means more scrutiny and a higher value placed on set leaks and spoilers.

And while the Russos recently refuted claims that they'd bothered to film fake scenes for Avengers 4 to put off leak hunters, Paul Bettany has now revealed that some measures were taken for Infinity War. According tot he Vision actor - who spoke to Screen Geek - the Russos produced fake scripts to throw scoopers off the scent:

“When I read the script there were fake scenes in it. I got the directors on the phone and they walked me through what were the fake scenes. They’d had three leaks already, so they’d written a script with lots of fake scenes. There were three Hero iPads that had the only real script on them.”

You have to wonder which three leaks were the legitimate ones, and with LEGO so gleefully ruining plot details, you also have to wonder how happy the directors are that toy tie-in deals still exist when they're going to such lengths.

Hopefully, at some point in the future, we'll get to hear what those fake scenes involved, as they'll be an intriguing part of the behind-the-scenes story.
