By the sound of this, it was just intended to be some additional footage for the Edinburgh set action sequence in which Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight attempt to take the Mind Stone from Vision before Cap, Falcon and Scarlet Witch arrive.

Again, it sounds like the scene would have been too much of a change of pace during the action, since slowing down is often one of the most cited reasons for making cuts.

"It’s a scene where they’re sort of stuck. There’s a point in the movie where they’re stuck without knowing what to do. And it was just this absurd scene of the Guardians not knowing where to go. And it was really fun and it was very endearing to us. But because the movie is so big and so propulsive, it just wasn’t quite pushing us where we needed to go."
