Avengers: Infinity War - Kevin Feige Hints At Thanos' Original Motivation

So Death might actually appear?

This may have been lost in the shuffle a little, but it seems that Kevin Feige recently teased the fact that Thanos' motivations for unifying the Infinity Stones in Infinity War might actually be what they were in the comics. In other words, he might really be seeking to court Death.

Feige spoke to Collider at the press day for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, who asked him specifically if Death would be appearing as a character in Infinity War or its sequel. The fact that he didn't flat out deny that is pretty telling:

“[His motives] will be similar to what they were in the Infinity Gauntlet in various ways. I guess that’s all I can say about that.”

So are we actually going to get to see a personified Death character that Thanos tries to seduce with a power play? Or is that "similar" qualifier an indication that it might be someone else? Could it be that we see Hela dropped into the story in place of Death (paralleling her relationship with the Mad Titan in recent comics?) Or is this just Kevin Feige stoking the fires of the rumour mill?

So far, none of the set leaks from Infinity War seem to have pointed to anything like this, but you'd have to imagine that both Death and Thanos will be completely rendered characters, so the practical filming requirements might be limited. And it's likely to be one of the most tightly guarded secrets on the entire production.

Hopefully, we will see some sort of redo of this Infinity Gauntlet story element - or at the very least some allusion to it - because it adds an almost human vulnerability to Thanos and makes him an even more complex character than just a space Hitler who wants control of everything.
