Which Bad Movies Have Absolutely Brilliant Soundtracks?

Movies best watched with your eyes closed.

We tend to take sound for granted when it comes to the movies; unless it's done badly, you rarely notice it or appreciate all the effort that has gone into making sure everything matches up. But whereas that might be the case for the sound effects and sound mixing department, it can't really be said for soundtracks, which - if done correctly - are usually one of the major aspects that stick in your memory long after a flick is over. Walking out of a movie theatre - and given the soundtrack was awesome - you almost always end up leaving humming the title theme. Soundtracks are an essential part of the cinematic experience, of course: try and imagine classic films like Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or The Good, the Bad and the Ugly without their iconic musical cues - it's probably not inaccurate to say that none of those pictures would have been anywhere near as popular if their composers hadn't conjured up such brilliantly memorable theme tunes and musical cues. Whereas these soundtracks are super well-know, however, sometimes an amazing soundtrack finds itself attached to a movie that is otherwise rubbish. Which got us thinking: which mostly bad movies have awesome soundtracks that have either been forgotten because nobody cares about the movie in question, or deserve more attention because the poor nature of the movie they go hand in hand with has distracted from the soundtrack's awesomeness? Our picks goes to Daft Punk's score for the relatively underwhelming TRON: Legacy, which made the entire process of watching what is perhaps one of the most unnecessary sequels of all time bearable with its appropriately futuristic and memorable cuts. So which bad movies do you think have brilliant soundtracks? Let us know in the comments below.
