Batman V Superman: 11 Biggest Rumours You Need To Know (Nov 12)

Bizarro, Red Kryptonite and an alien Lex Luthor?!

There's a long-held theory in film appreciation that in the absence of information, fans will abandon all logic to offer theories and pick apart rumours to fill the vacuum. Despite the fact that we've seen trailers and teasers now, Batman V Superman is still sufficiently shrouded in mystery to encourage the DC fan community to seek out their own plot spoilers. In some cases, the rumours that have emerged are based in some fact: from interviews with key talent and leaked official material, but in others, it's very much a case of them hearing hooves and thinking of zebras. Or in other words, extrapolating some seriously wild theories into legitimately viral rumours on what we can all expect from the upcoming ensemble. And that is going to continue up until the moment the film comes out. So, hold tight for the first round of regular theories and rumours on what we can expect from Batman V Superman...

11. Superman Is On Red Kryptonite

Fitting in with the image of Luthor as the arch-manipulator, this theory - suggested by Brian Mortensen on a Youtube show called Extraordinary Commentary - says that the supervillain tricks Batman into developing Red Kryptonite in order to destroy Superman. His theorising states that Luthor uses his stock of green Kryptonite to work with Bruce Wayne to develop a new weaponised version to contain Superman, which actually ends up over-powering Supes (as it does in the comics). That explains why the lasers shot at Batman in the trailer was so much more powerful than Superman's own optic blast. Somewhat hilariously, the theory also boils down to the fact that Luthor attempts to destroy Batman because he's mad at losing his hair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9l3TFfdhYM&feature=youtu.be Rating: 7/10 Actually, it's not a bad call. Luthor won't want Batman to destroy Superman, because it leaves him with another enemy (and a business rival), so the agenda will be to have them destroy each other. That would suggest that green Kryptonite would be too easy a solution, because it empowers one party too much, whereas Red Kryptonite fatally over-powers Superman, making him capable of destroying Batman and also himself. So it might be left-field, but that doesn't mean it won't have some seed of truth.
