Batman V Superman: 9 Major Reveals From The New Images

3. There Is No Rivalry With Marvel

While Marvel and DC fans may enjoy bickering about which movie universe is better, those actually making these movies don't seem in the least bit interested in getting involved with that dispute. Kevin Feige has frequently said he's looking forward to Batman V Superman, and while the two companies did clash over that May release date - which ultimately went to Captain America: Civil War when Batman V Superman moved - there don't seem to be any hard feelings. Zack Snyder didn't seem particularly interested in discussing comparisons between these two different worlds, stating only that the DC Extended Universe is tonally very different and that the world these stories take place in is a lot more "ancient" in a lot of ways. In terms of mythology and the like, that has actually always been the case in the comics, while Batman's twenty year stint is a lot longer than the seven or so years Tony Stark has worn the Iron Man armour! Producer Deborah Snyder meanwhile was quick to dismiss any notions of a rivalry as she praised Guardians Of The Galaxy, and emphasised the fact that the DC movies, "are a bit more serious. They deal with things that are a little darker. Things that place them in our world." It's not like Marvel's movies exist in a world too different to our own, but it seems "dark" and "gritty" is the way Warner Bros. are going to distinguish themselves from Marvel's lighter fare.
