Batman Vs Superman: 9 Things You Need To Know About Jena Malone's Robin

Is she the Girl Wonder, or someone completely different...

For a while now the rumour mill has been churning for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, with any and all information about DC's first attempt at building a cinematic universe being closely guarded behind super-fences and rolls of bat-non-disclosure agreements. Last October the internet briefly went a little nuts about Jena Malone. While the movie was still filming in Michigan, a reporter for WILX-10 News reported a leak from an extra who had his appearance hidden and voice changed to prevent the studios from discovering his identity. He reported, among other details about what they were filming that day, that 'the new Robin was a female'. When pictures surfaced of Jena Malone on set (she hadn't previously been announced as one of the cast) fans put two and two together and made Carrie Kelly. For those who don't know, Carrie Kelly was the first depiction of a female Robin, featured in Frank Miller's seminal graphic novel, The Dark Knight Returns. However, chances were somewhat slim that the character would feature, as Kelly is not an official canonical Robin, as the events of DKR have never really been incorporated as part of Batman's official timeline. It's more of a potential endgame scenario for the character. However, with everything about the most recent trailer (the robo-batsuit, the threat to make Superman bleed) screaming "WE WANT TO BE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS SO MUCH", the prospect of Malone stepping into Kelly's red tunic just got more realistic. So what is there to know?
