Black Panther: 12 Rumours That Were Total Bull

11. Most Of The Movie Isn't Set In Wakanda

The Rumour: One of the most depressing rumours ahead of the film's release was that only a small portion of Black Panther would actually be set in Wakanda, with the majority of the plot seeing T'Challa jetting off to other countries, including the U.S., to chase down Ulysses Klaue (Andy Serkis) and Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan).

The Truth: Though T'Challa does briefly visit Nigeria, a decent chunk of the film is set in South Korea and a pivotal flashback sequence takes place in the U.S., the overwhelming majority of Black Panther does indeed emanate from Wakanda.

While there was understandable worry that Marvel Studios would simply present Wakanda as window dressing for a more conventional and easily marketable superhero movie, to their credit, they totally doubled down and presented Wakanda in all of its spectacularly colourful, unique glory, making it the film's centre-piece.
