Black Panther Trailer Reactions: 7 Ups & 2 Downs

All hail the King.

Just like that, out of nowhere.

As with the Thor: Ragnarok first trailer, Marvel have chosen not to hype the impending release of the second official Black Panther trailer, instead allowing the Internet community to obsess more about when the Infinity War trailer will land and sneaking Panther out for an added punch. It's a bold move considering the recent trend for trailer teases ahead of them dropping, but it does seem to suggest that the studio has lots of confidence in Ryan Coogler's upcoming stand-alone.

And from the look of both trailers so far, they have a lot to be confident about.

Despite the lack of build, the trailer has caught attention very quickly, and mostly because it's just a great bit of hype-building itself. It sets out the movie's stall perfectly, swaggering to another beautifully chosen musical track and suggesting very much that the embrace of more weird material in the wake of Doctor Strange is in full force.

It's not an entirely flawless trailer, but it's a magnificent one for the most part. And there's a lot in there that deserves praise. So that's precisely the best place to start...
