There's no Fantastic Four crossover here.

Apparently, actors these days can't say anything without fans leaping on their words to twist every possible meaning out of it in the name of uncovering some accidentally revealed secret or other. This is what David Harbour has just discovered on the promotional tour for Netflix's third season of Stranger Things.

Recently, Harbour confirmed his casting in the MCU Black Widow stand-alone movie by saying that it was "a thing" he was doing, which naturally led to some people facetiously suggesting he was hinting that he would be playing The Thing. Because of course THAT is how he'd announce it.

It's all now led to Harbour having to qualify the intent of his words. He sat down with Winona Ryder for a Wired "autocomplete interview" promoting Stranger Things Season 3 and shot down the rumours:

"I just use the word 'thing' in my vocabulary a lot."

He didn't then reveal WHO he's playing, but just accept that he's not playing a Fantastic Four movie in a film reportedly set decades before the current MCU timeline. Because of course he isn't.
