Bond 24: Pop Star Labrinth 100% Wants To Do Theme Tune

Could he follow in Adele's footsteps?

Ahead of the release of the Bond 24 title and cast information this Thursday, one chart-topping singer has already thrown their name into the mix to record the next theme tune. In conversation with Metro Radio presenter Stuart Elmore, pop star Labrinth - on Simon Cowell's SyCo label - responded to his likening of latest single "Jealous" to a Bond song. The classically infused single charted at number 7 at the weekend, and has the grandeur and tone you might expect from a track typically chosen for the accolade. Between tweeting about not understanding trams and posting pictures of his hamster face, fellow star Sam Smith apparently reached out to Labrinth on social media and told him he should do the next Bond record. Ironically, Smith himself has long been the favourite to follow in Adele's footsteps to produce the next theme track. Labrinth responded to the question of whether he'd be interested in doing it in inevitably positive fashion:
"I'm sure they're going to call me up at some point... 100% I would do it. It would be really cool. I'd love to do that. I would go all out on that James Bond record."
With the big announcement coming on Thursday, Daniel Craig, Ralph Fiennes, Ben Whishaw, Rory Kinnear and Naomie Harris are all expected to return, with Léa Seydoux, Dave Bautista and Christoph Waltz big rumours to join the cast, with the latter possibly playing Blofeld. Do you think Labrinth would be a good choice? Share your thoughts below.
