One of the things that excites me most about a new James Bond film is finding out who is going to sing the title theme. The past twenty-three Bond themes read like a who's who of the music industry from classy crooners like Matt Monroe and Tom Jones to eighties boy bands, Duran Duran and A-ha. Not to mention pop queens like Shirley Bassey, Tina Turner and Madonna, who have all taken a shot at belting out an iconic opening track (or several in Dame Shirley's case).
If the above artists demonstrate anything, it is that recording a Bond theme is anyone's game. So here are five artists that deserve a shot at adding to Bond's fifty year legacy by recording one of 007's title themes.
Plus, Goldfrapp would be the first duo to record a title theme for the series since Jack White and Alicia Keys' Another Way To Die, and if anyone can fix that mess it is Allison Goldfrapp and Will Gregory.
