Bryan Singer Teases X-Men: Apocalypse Trailer

The director takes to Instagram to dangle a juicy screenshot in your face.

It makes perfect sense that 20th Century Fox are going to package an X-Men: Apocalypse teaser with Star Wars: The Force Awakens when it opens in December. Their last big franchise number of this year being used as their next big franchise installment of next? It's just savvy business. Director Bryan Singer has also hinted recently that a teaser was coming soon (and it was around this time two years ago that a teaser debuted for previous franchise entry X-Men: Days of Future Past), and yesterday, he added more fuel to the fire. A recent spoiler-y post to the director's Instagram shows a new still featuring Professor X (James McAvoy), being screened in some kind of editing bay/private theater as he "finishes up the first teaser". After 99.9% of fans missed out on the footage that was screened in San Diego Comic-Con this year, it's about time all of us got a peek at the film - especially considering its release date is only six scant months away. But there you have it - just in case you needed one more reason to be excited about Star Wars: The Force Awakens (you didn't), the first teaser trailer for X-Men: Apocalypse is likely to debut with that film's release in mid-December. It might even be released online shortly before that, so keep an eye out. Things we can look forward to seeing: a bald James McAvoy, Oscar Isaac as Ivan Ooze, Michael Fassbender looking pensive and mentally lifting something expensive, some snappy Quicksilver repartee (hopefully), and glimpses at not only younger versions of familiar mutants (Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm, Nightcrawler) but new addition Olivia Munn as sexy brain-ninja Psylocke. Can't wait. X-Men: Apocalypse is released on 19 May 2016 in the UK and 26 May in the US.
