Captain America 2 Ending: 11 Big Implications For Marvel Phase 3

Captain America is finally back in cinemas, after we last left him riding off into the sunset on his motorbike at the end of The Avengers (albeit aside from a brief but memorable cameo in Thor: The Dark World) - facing a new foe with old bones, in the shape of The Winter Soldier, and taking on a threat from within SHIELD on an unprecedented scale that will have far reaching consequences to the rest of the MCU. Now that the world has begun to see The Winter Soldier, and the dust is settling on what could very reasonably claim to be the best Marvel movie to date - and certainly the closest to the quality of The Avengers - and we've already discussed the meaning of the ending, the few missteps, and the many, many Easter Eggs, in-jokes and references, it's time to look in more detail at what the ending of the movie means to the future of Marvel's movie stable, and in particular to Phase 3. Some of the hints included at the end of the movie are major and unavoidable, while others are smaller details that open the door for potentially major events beyond the end of The Avengers: Age Of Ultron sequel. What is immediately clear is that Marvel Phase 3 is going to have a significant number of questions to answer, and Age Of Ultron is in danger of being a significantly long, and heavily stuffed movie event, and we're in for a white-knuckle ride...
