With Marvel Studios recently announcing their insane line-up for Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there are plenty of unanswered questions surrounding the future of the franchise and in which directions it will head. Though Avengers: Age of Ultron might seem like the most crucial immediate MCU film, arguably even more important will be the first film in Phase Three, Captain America: Civil War. Even ignoring the evident meaning of the title as drawing from the famed comic book arc, Civil War will set the tone for the most ambitious undertaking yet in the MCU. Phase Three is currently slated to feature a whopping 9 films, three more than either of the previous phases, and as such it's extra crucial that Civil War nails the mark to ensure the subsequent movies are successful. When this includes potentially tricky adaptations like Doctor Strange, Black Panther, Captain Marvel and Inhumans, it's even more important. Though information is still pretty scant on the production, which won't start shooting for about another 6 months, it's easy to draw a lot of deductions from the source material, snippets of information from the actors, and various other morsels that have been officially let loose so far.
