There's a very good case for Captain America: Civil War being the best film released all summer. Hell, there's a case for it being the best film released all year (but that's not actually that lofty an achievement given the disappointments). It's certainly the most lucrative and unless Star Wars or Harry Potter pull off an astronomical haul, that won't change.

The film is now heading to home release all over the world, with a raft of special features, deleted scenes and importantly a commentary track from the Russos and the writing team. It's actually a great companion to the main feature, with insights that aspiring film-makers and fans will appreciate in equal measure.

And in amongst the technical commentary and the charming gags, the creative team also reveal some choice nuggets and revelations that actually improve our understanding of Civil War and what it could have been.

Here are the biggest and best points they revealed...

We already knew that Alfre Woodard was hired on Robert Downey Jr's recommendation, but the commentary also includes the revelation that her character was inspired by Jaws.

The scene in which Mrs Kitner confronts Sheriff Brody after her son became the second victim of the shark in Jaws became the inspiration for Woodard's character approaching and castigating Downey Jr.

Throughout the commentary, the team mention other major influences: Mr Robot, Harry Potter, The Wire, Blood Simple, The Boys From Brazil... Some of them are more serious than others.
