Captain America: Civil War - 5 Minor Characters Who Will Become Really Important

Back with a vengeance.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with its carousel of old and new faces dropping in and popping out again to knit together the Universe€™s different threads, things can get a little dizzying. Often it can feel like no sooner have you heard a new character introduce themselves than the film's over and you've no idea what they actually added to it. They'll generally get about ten to fifteen minutes of cumulative screen time, have an on-screen chat with one or possibly two main characters, and get one chance to do some proper angsty serious-face to prove to the viewer that they have the acting chops to really make a big impact in an ensemble cast as big as the Avengers'. This last point does rather invite some scenery-chewing over-acting, too, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. Some introductions are more important than others, though. The seeding of important characters and narratives for MCU films which are still in development has become almost as important a function of the films as the telling of their own stories. As such, there are loads of minor characters with potential future importance, especially given how big fans Marvel are of the slow-drip (as Thanos and the Collector would attest). You'd be forgiven for thinking that Civil War - the double-stuffed cavalcade of characters and plot - would struggle to give minor characters any focus, but that's not going to be the case. Judging by the comics, and what we can reasonably assume from what has been teased so far, some lesser characters are going to come back with a vengeance to shape how the plot unfolds...
