Captain America: The Winter Soldier - 10 Most Awesome Moments

10. The Great Glass Elevator Brawl

One of the action highlights of The Winter Soldier occurs when S.H.I.E.L.D. operatives are told to capture Captain America - a scene which slowly reveals itself inside an elevator. Inside said elevator, the Captain suddenly realises that - as he moves from floor to floor - it's being filled with large, burly men, until it suddenly clicks that he's about to be ambushed. Polite as the Captain is, of course, he offers them the chance to get out, before... well, you can probably guess what happens when nobody decides to abort the mission: it's total and utterly carnage, to be frank. As the Captain faces off against what must be ten or more S.H.I.E.L.D. goons in this confined space, we're treated to one of the most impressive close-quarters fight scenes in recent memory - as the Captain pummels each man into submission, there's a real sense of manic tension, though it's hard to deny the scene's inherent silliness (and we mean that in a good way). The choreography is downright excellent - a trend that carries throughout the entire film, in fact - and the Captain's subsequent escape (leaping from thirty stories to the ground below) is exhilarating.
