Chris Hemsworth Wants Charlize Theron As Enchantress In Thor 2

Though her filming schedule on Mad Max: Fury Road makes it impossible for the Snow White and the Huntsman co-stars to reunite.

As rumours go around suggesting that the Enchantress will be introduced in "Thor 2" alongside Mads Mikkelsen's new and unnamed villain, comes the revelation from the God of Thunder himself as to who he would like to play the seductive role. Chris Hemsworth was asked in a recent interview with MTV for "Snow White and the Huntsman" about the "Thor" sequel and whether his co-star Charlize Theron, who has long been linked with the role, would be a good fit. He agreed but said her schedule made it unlikely. Regarding the Enchantress rumours first;
"I'm not playing the usual, sidestepping that we normally have to do, I haven't read a script. They have a bunch of different ideas, but that sounds interesting."
And regarding the Theron rumours;
"Oh right. Well she certainly plays a pretty intimidating villain, I think she'd be awesome but I think she's tied up in 20 other films. I think she's going on to 'Mad Max' next. you never know. Fingers crossed!"
In the Marvel comics Enchantress is an Asgardian Goddess experienced in the use of magic and seduction through her supernatural powers. In some ways she is the Catwoman of the Thor universe as she has regularly been an anti-hero in the universe, sometimes an ally but more often than not a villain. In one of her early stories she aids Loki by attempting to seduce and win the heart of Thor, distracting him whilst her ally the Executioner attempts to kill Jane Foster. This could well make up part of the plot for the "Thor" sequel, perhaps with Mikkelsen as Skurge, The Executioner who secretly loves Enchantress and she knows it but is just stringing him along to do her bidding. Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige has hinted that the new movie has Thor and Foster's love story at the forefront, so this seems like it could be the way they are going;
€œ[The heart of the movie is] Thor and Jane, to continue that dynamic," says Feige. "Really they were only together for three days, and do they love each other? Do they like each other? Do they know each other? We€™re acknowledging that that love story in the first movie was sort of a quick crush, essentially, over the course of three quick days in the middle of the desert."
Shooting on "Thor 2" begins next month and the producers are currently deep into casting for the few new roles that will be in the sequel. We heard yesterday that Zachary Levi will replace Joshua Dallas as Fandral but whether or not Enchantress is part of the new movie is just speculation right now. As for Theron's schedule, she is set to move to Australia to shoot "Mad Mad: Fury Road" imminently alongside Tom Hardy for director George Miller so there's pretty much no chance of this happening, sadly. Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Idris Elba, Jaimie Alexander and Anthony Hopkins are back for another outing, with more of the original cast expected to be confirmed soon, with Game of Thrones helmer Alan Taylor replacing Branagh behind the camera. Mads Mikkelsen is in talks to play a new villain. Written by Robert Rodat and Don Payne, €œThor 2€ is due November 15th, 2013 €“ the second movie on Marvel€™s upcoming slate after next May€™s €œIron Man 3€.
