Daddy's Home 2 Review: 3 Ups & 6 Downs

Mel Gibson to the rescue (kinda).

Daddy S Home 2
Paramount

It's that time of the year where Hollywood love to trot out its glut of low-effort Christmas-themed movies, and Daddy's Home 2 is most certainly no exception.

Though it initially opened to a rare, brutal 0% on Rotten Tomatoes, the score has since crept up quite a bit, even if it's still undeniably one of the year's worst-reviewed studio movies.

Still, you absolutely know what you're getting with this one: if you enjoyed the first, you'll find some easy laughs here, but if you thought the original was trash, this sequel won't do much at all to change your mind.

If you are planning to see it (or being dragged to it), though, you might want to wait a few more weeks until the Christmas spirit truly takes over and you'll probably be a little more forgiving of it. At least it didn't release the day after Halloween like A Bad Moms Christmas...
