Dan Harris adapting DANTE'S INFERNO

Universal Pictures have hired Dan Harris (co-scribe of SUPERMAN RETURNS & X-MEN 2) to come up with a screenplay for DANTE'S INFERNO, the as-yet released video game at Electronic Arts which became subject of a massive bidding war last October, when even the title of the game was unknown. The game and the movie will be titled DANTE'S INFERNO and it's based on the classic poem from the early 1300's which described Dante's imaginery journey through the depths of hell, where sinners were being punished for their past sins on Earth. A scenario that sounds like a great video game but a little harder to adapt for film. You can watch how difficult a task Harris has by watching the game trailer below. It hits the stores in December. source - variety
