Daniel Radcliffe Wants To Play Robin In Batman vs Superman Movie

The boy wizard becomes the boy wonder?

Daniel Radcliffe Robin Daniel Radcliffe has said that he€™d love to take on the role of Robin in 2016€™s upcoming superhero epic Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice. The Harry Potter star has been trying to move away from his role in the blockbuster wizarding franchise but seems ready to go mainstream again after roles in more niche films such as beat poet based murder caper Kill Your Darlings and dark Canadian thriller Horns. When asked by Buzzfeed if he€™d like to return to a franchise the British actor said: €œBatman. If they do that again, I€™ll do that too. It€™s happening isn€™t it?€ He added:€œWith Ben Affleck. I could be Robin. I€™m perfect.€ Dan certainly has the slightness required for the role but may be a little late in declaring his intentions as the movie has already started shooting €“ with Henry Cavill reprising his role as Superman in Man of Steel and the cast decided. However a successful release will surely see more movies follow as Warner Bros aims to emulate Marvel by creating a superhero cinematic universe. Batman vs Superman helmer Snyder surprised many by casting Ben Affleck as Batman, an actor who hasn€™t had an awful lot of luck with the superhero genre, with his role as Daredevil in 2003 being widely panned and the star himself having said that he regrets the role. But any casting of Radcliffe as Robin would be an even greater shock as the character has largely been side lined since Joel Schumacher€™s disastrous 1997 movie Batman and Robin, although Christopher Nolan made some nods towards the character in the last of his Batman films, The Dark Night Rises. With the DC Universe expanding it seems a possibility for the future €“ perhaps when the caped crusader gets his own movie once more. However with the reported casting of Game of Thrones€™ Jason Momoa as Aquaman in the new movie it seems that there will be many other characters in line before anyone gets the chance to play Robin. Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice is scheduled for a May 2016 release. Could you see Radcliffe as Robin? Or will he forever be the boy wizard, or does Batman even need Robin any more with his new super best friend?
