DAY OF THE DEAD straight to DVD

There will come a point sometime soon when every George A. Romero classic has been remade and you know, if they were all made as well as Zack Snyder's DAWN OF THE DEAD remake than that would make me a pretty happy guy. Sadly a remake as good as that only comes around once in a while and after months of speculated trouble, Steve Miner's remake of DAY OF THE DEAD will be skipping a theatrical release and will go straight to DVD in April. Couldn't they have done that with his LAKE PLACID, HALLOWEEN H20 and FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III aswell and saved wasting more hours of my life?

D standing for DVD in it's tagline presumably. The movie which stars Ving Rhames and Mena Suvari, actually looks like it has nothing to do with the original at all. You can watch it's ridiculously boring trailer below.

Good riddance to this pile of crap and let's be thankful we can instead see the remakes of PROM NIGHT and Rob Schneider's written and directed con-man movie BIG STAN instead. Oh, happy days!

source - bloody disgusting
