DCEU: Zack Snyder Wanted A Female Robin

The GIRL Wonder...?

As well as confirming that it was Dick Grayson who died by the Joker's hand in the time before Batman v Superman (and not Jason Todd as was widely believed), Zack Snyder has also hinted on Vevo that his DCEU would have had another Robin, eventually. And somewhat excitingly for fans, that Robin would have been female.

On the back of recent rumours that Matt Reeves' The Batman might introduce the same character, Snyder told fans on his social media platform that his plan would have been to keep Grayson dead and bring in Carrie Kelly to become Batman's newer sidekick.

This would have been a positive strike for the DCEU's attempts to diversify comic book movies, certainly, and it would have been a nice way to differentiate from the Joel Schumacher version of Robin too for added value. But clearly, it wasn't meant to be.

Interestingly, for Snyder to have had future plans for Robin, he must have been in line to take on more DC movies after Justice League when he was making Batman v Superman. Or at least assumed that he was going to be involved in some sort of creative capacity.

Hopefully, we'll get to see Kelly in a future Batman movie still, evne if Snyder won't be involved.
