Despite all of the concerns that the recent revelation of dreaded reshoots kicked off, Deadpool 2 is probably going to be one of the most talked about movies of the year. On the back of the first movie's success and Ryan Reynolds' continued smart self-marketing campaign, it's bound to make good money, but the move closer to the blockbuster summer window than Deadpool's February release might change studio expectations.
Luckily though, they've clearly hired a good trailer team because this latest teaser for the forthcoming release is really quite something. It dials up the action, the adult-focused humour, the charm and the humour (basically it turns Deadpool up to 11) and it will go some way to arresting any concerns about the reshoots and vague allusions to poor test screening reactions.
Here's the trailer, described by Reynolds as "falling somewhere between The Godfather 2 and Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights". In reality, it's Logan meets The Terminator, but that doesn't sound as funny...
Once more chocked full of Easter Eggs, jokes, profanity and violence, this is the best Deadpool trailer yet. Not that it's flawless of course and it deserves a balanced eye to see what worked and what just plain didn't (or wasn't welcome, at least).
