DEADPOOL creator Rob Liefeld panics over potential Ryan Reynolds drop-out

With Warner Bros. aggressively pushing forward a Green Lantern trilogy - a big cloud of doubt has suddenly formed over 20th Century Fox's Deadpool - a movie that WB are desperate to kill off, there's little question about that. Warner Bros. want their Hal Jordan - Ryan Reynolds - to be an exclusive DC superhero and I imagine they have been subtly, and maybe not so subtly messing with Reynolds' head trying to convince him not to play Deadpool anymore. WB are going to push Lantern as much as they pushed Inception this year - it's their biggest movie of 2011 and one that kicks off DC Entertainment with a bang. I had some back and fourth chatter the other day with a few of you guys over Reynolds' burning desire to play Deadpool in a stand-alone movie BUT I'm telling ya - if push came to shove, there is no way he would turn down a Green Lantern trilogy to star in a non-priority Fox tentpole, which will be their third or fourth biggest film of the year. Just not going to happen. I imagine there's huge nervousness right now at Fox, which is reflected today by a set of tweets from Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld... Now Liefeld is not directly involved in the Deadpool movie BUT he will have inside contacts, he will know what's going on. And he sure sounds nervous;
Warner Bros. just trying to protect their investment. They don€™t want Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool AND Green Lantern. Interesting 2 watch
Please direct Deadpool @RobertRdz !!!!! I€™m not above begging! Thanks!
Bottom line about Deadpool film is that if FOX doesn€™t pull the DP film together with Ryan Reynolds between GL films-they should Hari Kari
Ryan Reynolds is the new Will Smith, if FOX can€™t maximize this window of opportunity with this star, this character, that script=MASSV FAIL
You have it reversed @GeekTyrant it€™s Warners that wants to film back 2 back GL€™s and disrupt Deadpool. Not FOX!! Get it right!
This is certainly interesting to watch unfold. We've never really been in a situation when an actor, who has already turned in performances as both superheroes - is now being pushed into a decision where he has to choose between them. I understand Deadpool has been a life long dream for Reynolds but with WB hiring screenwriters, and all but announcing a start date on a GL sequel - they are clearly confident that Reynolds will can be bought. And with the bad blood between Fox and WB over the Watchmen situation (where Fox sued WB over copyright issues) - WB will relish in some revenge and there's little doubt that they are aggressively trying to put Deadpool out of business here. That's the nature of the game. Don't be surprised if you hear that Robert Rodriguez has been quickly hired to direct Deadpool later this year (remember Rodriguez has Spy Kids 4 to film next which complicates matters) - so Fox can try and fit their movie in before Reynolds goes Lantern again.
