Do We Really Need A Justice League Movie?

To me DC Comics and their heroes are different beasts and should be handled accordingly. I€™m neither in the DC or Marvel camp as a reader and love them both dearly but to me Marvel characters are pitch perfect for summer blockbuster events, whereas DC characters are ready to jump into a new arena. Superhero movies that are genuinely taken seriously. After the success of "The Dark Knight", that was widely regarded as Oscar nomination material and of course Heath Ledger rightly won an Oscar for playing the Joker, superhero movies officially went into a new realm. The film went on to make over a billion dollars at the box office and has spawned a second sequel in "The Dark Knight Rises" that so far has the mood of another Oscar consideration as opposed to a flashy comic book popcorn seller. Of course Batman has had time to develop on the audience's movie screens but DC / Warner Bros. trying to play by Marvel's rules resulted in "Green Lantern" and frankly if the plan is to follow the feel good vibe that Marvel movies generate, that are relatively safe for kids and recycle the €˜origin story€™ to death until you can almost write the stories you are going to see before you buy your movie ticket, the Justice League movie is doomed to fail. So again, do we need a really need Justice League movie? The only way I can really see this working is with quality. Putting our faith in Warner Bros. for a second. If "Man of Steel" gives us a Superman story that sets up the Last Son of Krypton we have our 'in' to a "Justice League" movie. You only need something after the credits, showing a series of over the shoulder shots of the rest of the Justice League as they see the news about Superman break. Let€™s say Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash and of course Batman to keep it simple. With Bruce this would also be the first reveal of who€™s playing him (no way Bale is coming back, right?) as he sits in the batcave, staring up the news footage musing over what this €˜super€™ man might do the world. Superman entering the public view is almost like a call sign to the rest of the world€™s heroes and with a tease like that anyone who€™s not excited about what happens next is lying.
