The first full trailer for Denis Villeneuve's upcoming sci-fi epic Dune has been released by Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures.

The trailer showcases a variety of visuals and iconography that will be familiar to fans of the franchise; including the planets Caladan and Arrakis, House Harkonnen's army of Sardaukar shock troops, the Fremen of Arrakis, the Litany Against Fear, the Gom Jabbar, and the long-anticipated first glimpse of Arrakis' massive sandworms that are a staple of the series.

Dune is the first half of an intended two-part adaptation of Frank Herbert's 1965 novel of the same name. It follows the journey of Paul, the youngest member of an aristocratic family in the far-flung future, who is suddenly relocated to the desert planet Arrakis (a.k.a. Dune) when his father is ceded control of the world from their long-time enemies, the Harkonnens.
