Every Upcoming Disney Live-Action Remake - Ranked By Hype

13. Lilo & Stitch

Our list begins with the weirdest and most unexpected announced Disney remake: 2002's genre-bending animation Lilo & Stitch.

This is the most recently-released animated Disney film to be confirmed for the live-action remake treatment, and though details are pretty scarce, we know that Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich will produce what's said to be a hybrid of live-action and CGI.

Scripting duties are being undertaken by newbie screenwriter Mike Van Waes, who is also behind the upcoming The Conjuring spin-off The Crooked Man.

On paper Waes seems like a pretty odd choice to adapt such material, and without a cast or director attached, it's tough to be more than morbidly curious about this one.

Of all the classic Disney movies ripe for the live-action treatment, this just seems like a weird pick. It'll be tough to nail the look from a technical perspective, and honestly, who is asking for this?
