Do You Expect J.K. Simmons To Play J. Jonah Jameson In The Amazing Spider-Man 3?

And more importantly... how much do you want him to?

Whatever you think of Sam Raimi's Spider-Man trilogy - from its overall quality, to its faithfulness to the comic book on which it was based, to the casting of Tobey Maguire and Kirsten Dunst as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson - there was one integral element that was undeniably perfect in every way. So much so, in fact, that it's near on impossible to imagine anybody else ever doing said aspect justice. We're talking about J.K. Simmons as Daily Bugle editor-in-chief and long-time Spidey hater J. Jonah Jameson, of course, in a part he was clearly born to play. Whether you thought Maguire sucked, or Dunst was boring, or James Franco was just downright weird, there's arguably nobody on Earth who sat down to any movie in the original Spider-Man trilogy and said: "J.K. Simmons as J. Jonah Jameson? What terrible casting!" Watching Simmons in the role (which he played three times, no less) was like watching a comic book coming to life; the actor embodies everything that makes Jameson such a memorable antagonist into each and every mannerism, complete with flat-topped haircut, mustache and penchant for cigars. Now that the Spider-Man series has been rebooted, Simmons' interpretation of the character looks to be lost - although the actor has stated that he'd be up for returning to what is perhaps his most famous role to date should the studio ever ask him back. What we want to know is... how would you feel about J.K. Simmons returning, and how likely do you think the chances are for The Amazing Spider-Man 3? Does it make sense to have him back in a rebooted franchise? It seems a bit odd, but hey... they managed to make it work with Judi Dench and M in Casino Royale.
