Fanning, Evans, Belle & Hounsou to Push with McGuigan

Lucky Number Slevin and if things were as simple as YES or NO when asked about my enjoyment of a film, I would probably categorize it in the NO section. I liked some parts of it and I was impressed by the cast they put together for it but the screenplay was more than a little dumb and director Paul McGuigan failed to disguise it's problems. McGuigan who previously directed Gangster No. 1 and Wicker Park has attached himself to a movie titled Push, which is being developed over at Summit Films, Icon Prods and Infinity Features, with all three distributing the film in different respective markets. Just like his last movie, he has managed to band together an impressive cast so far which includes Djimon Hounsou, Chris Evans, Dakota Fanning & Carmilla Belle.

"Push" centers on a group of young American ex-pats with telekinetic and clairvoyant abilities who hide from a U.S. government agency in Hong Kong and band together to try to escape the control of the division.
The script comes from David Bourla, who scribed two movies I've never heard of. Nostradamus in 2000 and Larcency in 2004. McGuigan has style no doubt but for me, he's only ever as good as his screenplay and he more than most struggle to keep a movie together when there is nothing but text on the script and no soul. Shooting begins next month in Hong Kong for a 2008 release says Variety.
