Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes Of Grindelwald Final Trailer Reaction: 8 Ups & 2 Downs

Again, as with the other trailers, we have to have a reason for this film to be called what it is. So far, the Fantastic Beasts title tag has proved to be a bit of a marketing misfire (they SHOULD have called it Wizarding World to tie it closer to Harry Potter, quite frankly) but that's the decision they've gone with and they need to deliver on it.

In other words, they need to give this film the Fantastic Beasts that fit the title. They need to justify why it's called that beyond it being a direct sequel, because what we know of the Grindelwald story does not really lend itself to it being considered part of Newt Scamander's story. Wouldn't he be more appropriately considered the wizard who tried to take on Grindelwald rather than the guy who wrote the book on magizoology?

Anyway, regardless of that, the trailer does a good job of explaining why this is a Fantastic Beasts movie with heavy focus on some new creatures and what they can do, including the weird spark lion creature, the kelpy, the Groot and the ghost horses (yes, I know, Thestrals, this was a joke). Let's just call them that for now.
