Fifty Shades Of Grey: 10 Much Better Choices Than Charlie Hunnam

Charlie Hunnam Charlie Hunnam is not right for 50 Shades Of Grey. After months of speculation and fan-fuelled rumours, it has today been announced that British actor Hunnam will line up opposite Dakota Johnson in the long-awaited movie adaptation of EL James' raunch-fest, to be directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson. The North East Englander has an impressive career under his belt after inauspicious but successful beginning in excellent UK series Queer As Folk, in which he played a gay schoolboy locked in a tempestuous and volatile relationship with Aidan Gillen. Recently he has starred in Del Toro's exceptional Pacific Rim, and has the lead role in the Sons Of Anarchy TV series, which sees him revelling in his darker side. But, the actor does not have the physical attributes to match the character - he is good-looking, but he is far from the most gorgeous man in the world, as fans would perhaps expect, and his roughness on Sons Of Anarchy doesn't really convince that he can pull off the refinement required to convincingly balance Grey's animal undercurrent with his calm surface. His casting is likely to cause as many ripples in certain fan circles as Ben Affleck's much talked about casting in Batman, and many will say the same thing that opened this article: that Hunnam is not right for the role. So with that in mind, here are 10 actors who would have been much better as Christian Grey than Hunnam...
