Fifty Shades Of Grey: 10 Much Better Choices Than Charlie Hunnam

10. Jensen Ackles

Ackles Fan-favourite Ackles has mostly made his name thanks to Supernatural, which could fit with the foundation of Christian Grey in the world of Twilight, and he would certainly have brought the necessary dark-edge to the character, as well as the clean cut good looks that would make Grey's darker side all the more shocking. He has long been named by fans of Fifty Shades Of Grey as a favourite for casting, and certain elements of the Supernatural fanbase would certainly have been keen to see him in the erotically charged role. He may appear to be a little clean cut for the role, but he has shown in flashes in Supernatural that he can cope with a darker edge, and the casting would have been a marketing boost, given how many fans the actor could have brought across from Supernatural. That guaranteed audience is exactly the kind of thing that the Fifty Shades film will need, with concerns in mainstream cinema that the film isn't going to be worthy of attention, amid accusations of conscious low-brow baiting. Ackles would certainly have been a better option than Hunnam, especially for the public face of Grey, and you really can't overestimate how much of a positive boost his established audience could have brought the film.
