Fifty Shades Of Grey Sequels: 12 Actors Who Should Replace Jamie Dornan

How do you solve a problem like Mr Grey?

Matt Bomer Magc Mike Gif Who would have thought it: the actor formerly known as Mr Grey has packed up his bag of sexy tricks and turned his back on a potentially career defining role after only the first film. It's not particularly surprising of course: he hasn't responded well to the critical mauling that's been dished out for the film, and his wife is apparently less than enthused about watching him do any more filth on a big screen. Plus there are those rumours that EL James is a terrifying megalomaniac who wants full creative control, despite supposedly being a submissive (surely, that's why she wrote Ana that way, right?) So now the franchise that started as one woman's flirtation with writing porn about Edward Cullen has a Mr Grey shaped hole in the middle, and the producers have to return to the drawing board for their Mr Right. Who they get at this stage is arguably even more important than the casting first time round. You can definitely strike Charlie Hunham off the list: he might have been attached to the role at one point, but he clearly has no interest to dust off his ball gag and return, having walked away over concerns about what the film might do to his career. With Dornan going the same way, it might prove difficult to convince anyone that they aren't going to sign on for another Showgirls-like disaster...
