Final Mad Max Fury Road Trailer Illuminates More Story Details

Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron star in the May released blockbuster.

Mad Max Fury Road It's a matter of record that Mad Max Fury Road is structured around a single, extended chase scene across the desert. It's not all just cars racing across the dunes, of course, and this new trailer for the film shows off some of the other material. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd7kZaMsPDM It seems like Max is being kept prisoner at some point, as are the 'brides' who have written, quite powerfully, I feel, 'We Are Not Things' on the wall. These indoors, blue-lit sequences seem to be from the start of the story. And then we're out into the baking sunlight. Cinematographer John Seale is really pushing the teal and cyan contrast here, but nobody could say it's anything less than appropriate. Director George Miller is a great visual thinker and I'm sure that Fury Road is going to be a very visceral experience as a result. That there's a little more going on, particular in the stories of the brides and Charlize Theron's character Imperator Furiosa, could well be enough to raise this the level of flat-out classic. Fury Road opens in the UK on May 15th, the day after its premiere in Cannes. Even that one day may be rather testing on my patience.
