FINDING NEMO 3D Trailer Breaks The Surface

Disney Pixar's 3D re-release of the sea-based modern classic gets a brand new trailer.

After the massive success of The Lion King 3D and the Toy Story 3D redoes, and considering how well the medium has served animations, adding depth without compromising shot integrity or relying on gimmicky composition too much it was only a matter of time before more Disney and Pixar films appeared with the same retreatment. Following Beauty & the Beast 3D, which opens this weekend in America (and later in the Spring in the UK) Finding Nemo 3D is the next to get a release, in Fall this year, and Disney Pixar have released a trailer to celebrate the upcoming release: http://youtu.be/-3y-6LDArp0 There will no doubt be some backlash against this, considering Disney are essentially asking cinema goers to fork out more money to see a film they have already seen, and probably already own on blu-ray, but that point of view fundamentally undervalues the experience of cinema, of spectacle and atmosphere and of enjoying a modern classic in a new way. I for one will be lining up to see all four of the upcoming Disney and Pixar 3D re-releases (starting with Beaut & The Beast and Finding Nemo, and followed by Monsters Inc and The Little Mermaid next year) no matter what the cost. Finding Nemo 3D will open in the US on 14th September.
