First it was the return of the director, now it's the return of Tron!

Every two years or so a Tron remake or sequel is announced. This time it's got the director of the Logan's Run remake attached to it but will it actually happen this time?

tron-poster.jpgStudio's are loving the cult-classic Tron at the moment. Only last week we heard that the original movie's director Steve Lisberger announced he was making his first movie in 18 years and now comes word that another Tron movie is actually in the works. Joseph Kosinski, the commercials director responsible for that awesome Gears of War ad and the guy who has been given the task of helming the Logan's Run remake is in talks to direct the movie described as 'a new chapter in the Tron saga'. Two writers of Lost will scribe the script whilst Lisberger is also on board for the project as a co-producer with Sean Bailey under his Live Planet Banner says The Hollywood Reporter. So Tron is coming back and I have no idea why. The original was all about showing the world what computer generated technology could do alongside live-action but that sort of thing is not going to impress anyone these days, we are all so sophisticated with special effects that we expect them in every action movie we see. Though at least they are going the sequel wrote, and not a remake. Thoughts on this? I haven't seen Tron in god damn years and these two stories so close together make me want to sit down and watch it all over again.
