First Look: Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke & Mia Wasikowska In THE WETTEST COUNTY IN THE WORLD

John Hillcoat's adaptation of The Wettest County in the World has finished shooting out in Georgia and producer Cassian Elewes has uploaded some extremely low-resolution shots taken on a recent set visit. The quality of the photo's match those of a six year old working with their first camera, but we'll take them over nothing. Above is our first look at the Bondurant brothers Forrest (Jason Clarke), Howard (Tom Hardy) and Jack (Shia LaBeouf) - a family bootlegging gang who find their moonshine dynasty in Franklin County, Virginia threatened by the authorities wanting a cut during the 30's Prohibition era. Not pictured but also featuring is Gary Oldman as the brothers' employer and Hillcoat's muse, Guy Pearce, brought over from his previous films The Proposition and The Road as a violent deputy hot on their heels. Elwes said on twitter (via The Playlist);
I saw quite a bit of footage yesterday from wettest county it looks excellent. Shia is a leading man in every way with a great great cast€ Hillcoat€™s use of cinematic language is astounding. He conveys emotion w/ the camera not words- a rarity. His men r men. Every moment€™s real.
A few more snaps taken, the first which includes the cast that were present for filming that day (including Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain), the spouses of two of the brothers; A fan photo revealed a better look at Mia; A first-rate cast if there ever was one €“ The Wettest County in the World has been adapted for the screen by Nick Cave who is also scoring the movie, probably with Warren Ellis. Their last score together was the extraordinary The Assassination of Jesse James By The Coward Robert Ford. Hopefully this one might see the light of day at the Venice or Toronto Film Festival later this year.
