This is the end.

Our first look at Fox's latest attempt to bring the Dark Phoenix saga to life is here, with the trailer for the new X-Men movie officially released after leaking online earlier this week.

Dark Phoenix sees the X-Men reuniting to take on one of their own in Sophie Turner's Jean Grey who, after an incident in space almost kills her, finds her powers exponentially growing but also becoming dramatically unstable at the same time.

With her powers unleashed in ways she can't control, it's up to the rest of the team to try and stop her. The trailer puts the focus on Charles' past mistakes with Jean, as well as her burgeoning new powers. All of the key players are back, and there's a brief appearance from Jessica Chastain's mysterious new villain, Smith, who meets Jean in a church and tells her she doesn't belong.

The movie recently underwent reshoots, although only for a couple of weeks, so some things here may well change by the time of the movie's released on February 14, 2019.
