Former Bond director confirmed for Narnia 3

n4604.jpgThe World is Not Enough director Michael Apted will indeed be directing the third installment of The Chronicles of Narnia series with filming set to begin on January 1st. Yes that's right, this time round they are filming the next movie, before the previous one in the series has been released (which is May for those interested). In reality it's not much of a risk. The first film made $744 million worldwide and although I would expect the sequel to do less numbers because The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe is a more popular novel (and because the original movie sucked) we are still talking about how many hundreds of millions it will make, rather than just millions. The movie will be titled The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader and Apted who last helmed Amazing Grace, spoke about his excitement for the project with Coming Soon who give us a couple more tidbits of news...
"I'm thrilled to be asked to make the film. It's something new and a great challenge," said Apted about taking on the project. Mark Johnson will produce along with Andrew Adamson, who directed the first "Narnia" and is currently directing the second installment. Returning cast members for the third film include Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes.
The first Narnia was terrible in nearly every department. If Prince Caspian goes the same way then personally I won't even make it to the third flick.
