Fox not interested in He-Man revival

20060603072737-he-man.jpgFox 2000 executive producer Rodney Ferrell has spoke to Moviehole about the studio's decision to pass on financing the possible revival of the He-Man franchise. This is what he had to say... "This was a project set up at Fox...but in the recent months we gave the project back to Mattel and are no longer involved." I don't think this is a big suprise to anyone that has followed the project over the last two years. John Woo was originally on board to direct and produce the flick back in 2004 but after months of delays in getting the thing started, recent reports claimed that the director had lost interest in the project. So what now for He-Man then? Well it's entirely feasible that another studio will nab the rights of the franchise and hire a brand new director to helm a revival but at this point I can't see it happening, the whole franchise in all forms is pretty much dead right now. Probably a good thing as far as I'm concerned, I still have my awesome DVD copy of the 1987 movie Masters of the Universe and can re-visit Eternia anytime I want. source - moviehole, coming soon
