Fox respond over HITMAN claims

Studio says Nicoles De Toth has been brought on to edit the film, but it will still get an R-Rating.

Wednesday's news that editor Nicolas De Toth had been brought on to tone down the graphically violent Hitman was quite unbelievable given the subject matter of the film and it did little to bring back any hope to Hitman fans who have just about given up on this movie. 20th Century Fox have responded to the news, e-mailing Rope of Silicon to confirm that De Roth had been brought on to tone down the film, but that it is still expected to be R-Rated...
Director Xavier Gens is still working on [Hitman]. The film still has intense action and will definitely be rated "R". Nicholas De Toth is an editor who has been hired to do some consulting. He is not THE editor(s). By the way - AVP-R will also be a hard "R" a month after Hitman. It's not fair to say that Fox waters down/softens all their films for PG-13 ratings...
ROS then responded asking just who would get the final cut...
As you can imagine, we are upset to see this inaccuracy about the rating be spread around. We really are putting out an "R" rated movie, which as you may know really limits us/challenges us in alot of ways in our marketing. knows that to capture Agent 47's essence, this film needs to be an "R".
So then, if there's to be not toning down of the film... has De Toth been brought in to save it? The trailer for Hitman which I've uploaded below looked absolutely appalling. We already know the film got pushed back, maybe Xavier Gens cut was so bad he needed this extra bit of counseling...
