Full Trailer For Brad Bird's Tomorrowland

Or Tomorrowland: A World Beyond in the UK.

Here's the new trailer for Tomorrowland. This is the one that Disney have been playing to the press before screenings of The Avengers: Age of Ultron, and it was great on the big screen. It's a lot more action packed than the previous promos, but similarly skimpy on actual plot details. Several of the lead characters don't make any kind of appearance in this trailer at all, in fact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fM7lEYw0rTk That's great. I like it. A lot. I'm privileged enough to have seen the full action sequence in Frank's house, from when Casey arrives at the door looking for answers, through the attack of the Dave Clark robots, and right up to the escape by bathtub. It comes across pretty well in the promo, but it was dynamite in full. We'll have to wait a few more weeks to see if Tomorrowland adds up to its potential, but the premise is imaginative, director Brad Bird is a great craftsman, and there are plenty of twists and surprises baked into the story. If everything goes well, this could be that rare thing: a broadly popular, massively entertaining blockbuster that isn't a sequel, spin-off or part of a sprawling shared universe. And isn't that something fans are crying out for every day? Tomorrowland opens in the US and UK on May 22nd. I can't wait.
