Game Of Thrones Actor Finn Jones Is Marvel's Iron Fist?

From Loras Tyrell to Danny Rand.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting tonight that Finn Jones, who plays Loras Tyrell on HBO's "Game of Thrones," will be playing the lead role in Marvel's upcoming Netflix original "Iron Fist." Neither Marvel nor Netflix has commented on the report. "Iron Fist" is the fourth Marvel property to be adapted to television for Netflix following "Daredevil," "Jessica Jones," and the upcoming "Luke Cage." First created in 1974, Danny "Iron Fist" Rand is a Manhattan billionaire who moonlights as a superhero with a mastery of the martial arts. Orphaned at a young age, Rand is raised in a mystical Chinese city and achieves the power of the Iron Fist by defeating the dragon Shou-Lao the Undying. Jones, 27, is best known for his "Game of Thrones" role as Loras Tyrell, brother of Queen Margaery and former lover of the deceased Renly Baratheon. Given that season five of "Game of Thrones" ended with Loras imprisoned by the religious order known as the Sparrows, Jones's availability for another show potentially bodes ill for the character's future. The report of Jones as Rand runs counter to calls for Marvel to cast an Asian-American actor in the role and subsequent rumors that the company was looking to do just that.
