George Lucas calls Spider-Man 3... "silly"

george-lucas.jpgAlthough I hate to say that I actually agree with George Lucas on these comments about Spider-Man 3, you can't help but feel that the old advice "people who live in glass houses, shouldn't chuck stones" is advice he should have adhered to here. When asked about his opinion on Spider-Man 3, Lucas told Fox 411 (through Coming Soon)...
"It's silly. It's a silly movie...There just isn't much there. Once you take it all apart, there's not much story, is there? People thought 'Star Wars' was silly, too...But it wasn't."
The whole Star Wars prequels George... remember those little movies that bagged you all that cash? You should never have the right to call any movie "silly" after the creative decisions you made with a much beloved franchise. There's also talk of two live-action made for T.V. films based on the Star Wars franchise, but AICN (along with myself) believe this to simply be the television series he is currently working on... set a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away. I wonder what the chances are of us calling his Star Wars T.V. show "silly" when it finally gets made. I mean I didn't like Spider-Man 3 (review here) at all, but that cheap shot seems stupid and meaningless to me. Why bash on the movie George?
