GHOST TOWN poster

Ricky Gervais sees dead people, and they annoy him!

Just can't get excited for this one. Ricky Gervais and Simon Pegg doing American style comedies does nothing for me right now, this has the feeling of a very bad early 90's Paul Hogan film! Now Gervais is no sell out, we know this. So I'm of the opinion that he must really believe in this material but man, for a guy who often talks about wanting a "legacy" that will live even when he is gone (which in The Office and Extra's he already has), this is a painful thing to watch. With this, Night at the Museum and Stardust, does it not count if they aren't made by him?

In Ghost Town, Gervais plays a dentist who genuinely dislikes people and won't budge an inch to help anyone, who suddenly dies for several minutes in hospital and awakens with a Sixth Sense... an ability to communicate with the dead and act as a helper to them. David Koepp (Secret Window, Stir of Echoes) directed the movie he co-wrote with John Kamps (Zathura, The Borrowers). Greg Kinear, Teo Leoni and Alan Ruck co-star, the movie is due out September 19th (U.S.) and a month later in the U.K. You can view the hideously cliched trailer for this movie and read by opinion of it HERE.
